Amali de Alwis, most influential woman in UK IT 2018 - winner’s speech
In this video from the 2018 Computer Weekly diversity in tech event, in partnership with Mortimer Spinks, the winner of this year’s programme to recognise the most influential women in UK IT, Amali de Alwis, gives her acceptance speech.
The Code First: Girls CEO talked about the importance of diversity in the technology industry, and quoted from a blog post by a former participant in the social enterprise's training scheme, which explained how the initiative changed her outlook.
The overwhelming message in this speech is that everyone has the potential to work in tech or to learn to code, and nothing should stand in the way.
