Cloud computing will play an increasingly important role in the datacentres of organisations in Australia and New Zealand this year, with cloud-based infrastructure topping the list of IT projects planned by CIOs, according to Computer Weekly/TechTarget research of ANZ-based IT decision makers. This is not lost on suppliers. For example, the cloud services arm of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba opened a datacentre in Sydney last year.
