Computer Weekly@50: What was happening in IT in April over the years
The photograph on this page is quite genuine – I was there, and that tangle of cables, valves and black boxes really worked. During the years 1948 to 1951 we at the NPL made our own digital computer, the Pilot Model ACE, and it was a great success – even a financial one.
