Technology has increased everyone’s safety a massive amount, but there is always more that can be done.
The Intel Smart Clip prototype replaces the safety clip in a child’s car seat and sends updates to an application on the parent’s smartphone or tablet device.
The clip can send information including whether the clip is done up properly, the baby’s temperature and how much battery life the clip has left.
If you manage to wander 10 - 15m away from the car, the clip will lose its Bluetooth connection to your phone and alert you that you’ve left the baby in the car.
As simple as it sounds, small devices like this could make a big difference to lives and improve safety.
