Business communications: the state of the market
Ofcom’s study found that retail business mobile revenues of £3.5bn in 2013 were down by 0.7% year-on-year.
Sales of out-of-bundle data and messaging services, down just over 3%, contributed to the decline due to falling SMS message volumes and increased bundling of data services in line rental fees.
The data also reveal that increased service bundling with pay-monthly tariffs meant there was a slight uptick in voice and bundled service revenues in 2013, even though business mobile call volume dropped.
