Business communications: the state of the market
As expected from the growth in mobile, call volumes per business line fell last year by 7.7%, from 223 minutes per month in 2012 to 206 in 2013.
This naturally impacted average spend, with monthly revenues per business line down to £22.72, meaning average spend per line last year was down £4.94, or just under 18%, on the 2008 figure.
Out-of-bundle sales also fell, 6.5% on international and 7% on calls to mobile, although here Ofcom found the declines were at least partially offset by a 1.8% increase in average spend on line rental and bundled calls, which now account for over two thirds of average business spend per line.
