Business communications: the state of the market
Mobile is increasingly dominating the enterprise market, with over half of business calls originating on a mobile network in 2013.
However, total business call volumes dropped by a total of just under 4bn minutes to 44.6bn minutes, which Ofcom found to be the result of the greater popularity of email, messaging, VoIP and so on, by business users.
As the chart shows, both fixed and mobile call volumes fell, but the decline was substantially more marked on the fixed line side.
