Business communications: the state of the market
Ofcom’s latest UK Communications Market Report showed a decline of 2.6% in business telecoms sales, with fixed voice revenues dropping fastest as businesses moved away from PSTN lines and ISDN connections. Mobile sales into businesses also dropped for the first time ever, Ofcom revealed, although by under £100m.
Elsewhere, sales from non-corporate internet connectivity and corporate data services stayed relatively flat, as with non-corporate offsetting a fall in data services.
Ofcom’s data suggest that business markets account for roughly 30% of total UK retail telecoms sales in 2013, down by 0.6% when compared to 2012.
