A peek into Intel’s Internet of Things lab in Swindon
Another IoT device showcased at the Intel lab in Swindon was the television with sensors that identifies when someone is looking at the device and based on the gender recognition, it displays targeted ads. The television can distinguish between a single viewer and a group of viewers and also offers analysis into the total number of men and women viewers.
In this instance, as a group of viewers are looking at the device, the television displays an advert that might be relevant to the whole group. It provides details such as number of viewers and the length of the impression but it does not provide any personally identifiable data to the advertisers.
