Any iOS 7 device can now be automatically enrolled in an MDM system during activation, so IT can now skip basic set-up steps and configure devices fully with corporate settings and policies far quicker than before. The simplest way to do this is with the Apple Configurator app, by selecting ‘Setup’ from the ‘Prepare’ tab, choosing the ‘Device Enrollment’ payload and providing both the URL for your MDM Server and the Anchor Certificates needed for the iOS device to connect securely the server. Any device you then connect to the configuration Mac and upload this payload to will then access the MDM when you (or the user) start to configure it.
