Raspberry Pi Foundation ships millionth Pi manufactured in the UK
Robert Mullins, co-founder and trustee of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, admits he never anticipated the little bare-bones computer would generate so much interest.
Mullins said the community that has evolved around the Raspberry Pi has been central to everything to do with the project: “They have shaped the platform and are creating really exciting projects that draw more people in.”
Projects range from robot controllers to full-blown media centres and home automation systems. Since the Pi is bare bones hardware, everything must be installed via the internet.

In fact, thanks to the community, it is possible for a Pi newbie to copy and paste instructions and download code from the internet to turn the humble Raspberry Pi into a sophisticated device.
