Women in Computing through the years: Computer Weekly’s Archive
This advertisement from HP in a 1994 issue of Computer Weekly features Debbie Warden, Computer Systems Engineer at HP with the strap line “She’ll make it work.”
The advert actually focuses on customer support and HP’s services saying: “No matter what hardware, software or network your system consists of, Debbie and her team are there to take care of it” but clearly implies women are welcome at HP and the company would like to hire more into management positions.
Google are sponsoring a Women in Computing Gallery at TNMOC unveiled at Bletchley Park this month. Dame Steve Shirley was in attendance for the launch.
