10 Enterprise Social Media Trends of 2013 -- IDC
According to IDC, as an effect of the Facebook IPO, the usefulness of social media will come under debate in 2013. The companies will be divided into two camps; one camp will explore social for business, the other will question its value based on the experience of 2012. This latter camp, IDC mentions, will make it difficult for social media applications vendors to capture the CIO mind share in 2013.
The application vendors will need to engage more with individual business units of the customer organizations than with CIO's office to make any sale happen, according to the research firm.
