Test drive: SQL Server 2012

A new feature of SQL Server 2012 called Power View offers rich web-based reporting. Power View hooks into SharePoint, Microsoft’s collaboration platform. Microsoft describes it as “a feature of SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise Edition,” which is good for SharePoint integration but also means it has multiple dependencies. Power View is an ad-hoc reporting tool and not a replacement for Report Designer or Report Builder.
