TelcoSwitch passes 100,000-user milestone
Unified comms specialist adds a fresh milestone in a year that has already included a couple of acquisitions
The past year has been a busy one at TelcoSwitch, with the hosted voice and unified comms player securing funding, completing a couple of acquisitions and seeing its customer base expand.
The firm started 2021 with the business landing £4m capital, £2.5m through BOOST&Co and £1.5m through existing long-term investors, to help support its growth ambitions.
That was followed by the acquisitions of OneVoice in January and PBX Hosting in April. Those were designed to add more customers, partners and expertise to the business.
The latest update from the unified communication as a service (UCaaS) specialist is around customer numbers, with the business reaching the level of supporting 100,000 daily users, from across the globe, on its CallSwitch hosted telephony platform. It started 2021 with 60,000 users on the platform, so has added a significant number in the first quarter.
Last month, the firm added CallSwitch for Teams to the platform to ensure it could respond to the increased need for comms around the Microsoft collaboration offering.
Aaron Foster, CTO of TelcoSwitch, said at the time that the firm was leaning on the CallSwitch infrastructure to give users the choice of using Teams: “This is something we believe will be extremely powerful in complementing our existing offerings with partners and end-customers,” he added.
TelcoSwitch also doubled its partner numbers during 2020 and has said that increasing numbers further is one of its key ambitions.
Russell Lux, CEO and founder of TelcoSwitch, said the business had actively changed over the past year as it looked to widen its market.
“The last 12 months have been hugely significant in our evolution as a company, and passing 100,000 users is a major milestone for us,” he said. “The fact that the majority of our growth has been organic is testament to the technical and commercial strength of our offering, the dedication of our employees, and the loyalty and support of our valued channel partners.
“We’ve worked exceptionally hard to get here and don’t take the success for granted. We remain fanatical about delivering great products and adding value to our partners and customers, and we’re really excited for the year ahead.”
Lux has seen the business he founded back in 2015 grow over time, with offices throughout the UK, the US and South Africa, specialising in hosted voice, UCaaS and compliance solutions via its CallSwitch hosted telephony platform.
After doubling its turnover, the business has been ranked the 25th fastest-growing UK tech company in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100.
