Jungle IT extends managed services reach
Jungle has made the first of a few acquisitions as it looks to extend its managed services portfolio
Yorkshire-based Jungle IT has picked up the IT operations of the managed services business of the Leeds office of accountancy firm Mazars.
The deal, which has been struck for an undisclosed sum, will give a boost to the managed services ambitions at Jungle IT.
The 15 year-old Jungle, based in Horsforth, has been expanding beyond its traditional hardware and software roots to develop more of a managed services proposition and has got to the stage where it can boast of a £6m turnover business with a team of 22 staff.
Jungle IT and Mazars have been working together for a couple of years, which made the sale decision a more logical move.
“The former Mazars’ IT services operation is a great fit for us and it will very much be ‘business as usual’ for existing clients. The acquisition will also enable us to harness the skills of this experienced team to rapidly expand our managed services offering to SMEs throughout the region and support their digital transformation," said Jungle IT founder Jonathan Asquith.
The firm is intending to build on this deal and make a further moves to strengthen the range of services it can provide customers.
“It is the first of a number of acquisitions we plan to make as we build up our services to offer a complete portfolio of managed IT services to Jungle clients," he added.
The response from Oliver Hoffman, managing partner at Mazars in Leeds, indicated that having used Jungle IT to help with its hardware needs for the last couple of years it had a good understanding of its suitor.
"Having provided our computer hardware needs for over ten years, we have a strong relationship with Jungle IT and were confident that they would be able to offer the same high standards of service to our clients as well as enabling our established IT team to continue to work together," he said.
