Asolvi seals third UK acquisition with PC Data buy
Nordic firm extends its footprint in the UK with move for Hull-based firm making its third British buy so far this year
Asolvi has made its third UK acquisition this year after moving to pick up Hull-based PC Data, which delivers service management software into the fire and security systems industry.
The Norwegian field service management player acquired Purpose Software in January and then followed that up with Vantage Computing being snapped up in February.
The Nordic player has made it clear that it views UK expansion as one of its priorities and it is prepared to acquire when it complements its core market focus.
"This is a logical step for us following our other acquisitions in the UK within the field service management space," says Pål M. Rødseth, CEO of Asolvi. "The team at PC Data have served the UK fire & security sector with class-leading solutions for many years. "
PC Data delivers the Alarm Master solution to the fire and security systems market and has more than 600 customers across the UK, which will take the Asolvi user base past the 1,500 mark in 30 plus countries.
"Asolvi has a good number of customers in this vertical already, but now PC Data brings a pool of industry specialists to the table. This will help us deepen our expertise in fire safety and security systems and become Europe's top provider of field service management software for this market," said Rødseth.
The leadership team at PC Data, Ken Symmonds and Philip Jackson, took the view they could have more impact by joining forces with Asolvi.
"We believe that being part of a larger software group will add strength to the product development that is needed in such a high-stakes market. We have also got to know Asolvi as a competent and dedicated company in the service management space and are confident that bringing the companies together will benefit our customers in the future," they said in a joint statement.
