SonicWall increasing local partner support across EMEA

More offices plus extra hires have added depth to the security player's presence across EMEA

SonicWall is wrapping up the year with an update on its progress in EMEA with the security player holding firm to its belief that the channel fares better when there are high levels of local support.

The firm has cut the ribbon on offices in  Basingstoke, Barcelona and Dubai this year and has a direct presence in 16 countries across EMEA.

At the same time as investing in offices the vendor has also made a move to bolster its management teams with several hires, including a UK appointment that should interest its partners, with Helen Jackson appointed as regional sales director for the UK. One of her former roles was as channel director for the UK and Ireland at Nokia.

Other joiners have included adding more depth to the MSSP team with Fabrizio Corradini, formerly channel manager at Cisco and EMC, taking on the role of strategic partner manager for Southern Europe.

“Our boosted presence across EMEA is part of a long-term plan, and proof of our determination and commitment to strengthen SonicWall’s value proposition among our valued customers and partners within this exciting and rewarding market," said Michael Berg, executive director sales EMEA at SonicWall.

“By ensuring our channel expertise is always within easy reach and that we are committed to speaking local languages, we are better placed to understand and respond in a valuable way to our customers’ individual cybersecurity challenges," he added.

One of the main themes at SonicWall this year has been to grow its market share in the mid market and Berg said that getting closer to partners meant that it could support that ambition.

Looking ahead into 2019 the security player is forecasting double-digit growth as it continues to grow its partner base, which has increased by over 45% since the company divested from Dell two years ago.
