Nerdio & Kyndryl co-create to 'tailor' a finer cut of virtual desktop
Nerdio appears to be in an evolutionary cycle of its own making designed to elevate the company above the established base of technology competencies that we already know it for.
As we know, Nerdio works to add value on top Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 and Microsoft Intune with features intended to simplify management, ensure efficient operations and lower Azure compute and storage costs via automation.
While we can still think of Nerdio as the Azure Virtual Desktop company, we can also see the firm put a deeper foothold into foundational infrastructure-level technologies that could extend to the now widely popularised notion of platform engineering.
I should co-co-creation
This month sees Nerdio explain why it is partnering with infrastructure services provider Kyndryl to support IT modernisation efforts. The companies are now embarking on planned joint ‘co-creation’ activities focused around technical integration and knowledge sharing to create software products and services that they say will span across diverse industries.
“Nerdio is thrilled to collaborate with Kyndryl, expanding the reach of our modern cloud solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 and Intune, to a wider audience,” said Joseph Landes, chief revenue officer, Nerdio. “Together, we are well-positioned to address the evolving needs of businesses worldwide, offering them the agility, scalability and efficiency required to thrive in today’s dynamic digital landscape.”
This partnership is said to enhance Kyndryl’s capabilities in delivering tailoring solutions across Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 and Microsoft Intune customers’ environments.
A tailored fit
While neither company detailed what kind of tailoring services will be involved and most pertinent here, we can perhaps assume that this note refers to Kyndryl Consult – a technology base designed to accelerate digital by aligning business outcomes with the technology that drives them… and in the Kyndryl universe, that has to involve some metrics.
“Understanding the ideal experience in the hybrid working era requires deep insights that are beyond traditional metrics. Our digital workplace solutions are designed for proactive and predictive issue avoidance, using AI-driven automation, data analytics and self-healing technology. Together, we can create an integrated, secure hybrid workplace that’s future-ready,” notes Kyndryl.
The collaboration between Kyndryl and Nerdio aims to deliver streamlined IT operations to manage and optimise IT environments to drive efficiency and productivity. The work here is focused on essentially scalable cloud solutions and incorporates enhanced security and compliance. The firms promise users the ability to use robust security measures and compliance frameworks to safeguard critical data and mitigate risks.
VDI propulsion factor
“Partnering with Nerdio aligns with our mission to improve the digital experience for our customers”, said Dennis Perpetua, Kyndryl global CTO of digital workspace services. “Nerdio’s suite of cloud solutions complements our services, enabling us to maximise the benefits and create new value with virtual desktop environments which propel our customers forward.”
Also here (as already noted) we find work here designed to accelerate digital deployments so that firms can expedite the journey toward digital transformation.
The concept here is a chance to improve business agility and respond quickly to changing market dynamics and customer demands, enabling faster innovation and growth.
